Faralloy™ Rigid Compounds
Our Faralloy™ rigid compounds are available in four product groups: filled grades, flame-retardant grades, sustainable grades, compounded TPO’s.
Primex manufactures a complete line of filled compounds for injection molding, extrusion and blow molding. These grades are available in mineral-filled, unfilled versions, natural and UV resistant matched colors. Filled grade products are primarily polypropylene, polyethylene, or polystyrene based to cover a multitude of industry segments. Filled compounds may be used in high volume applications such as appliances, transportation, building and construction, lawn and garden, electrical and electronics, packaging, etc.
Flame Retardant Grades
Flame retardants are added to plastics to increase resistance to ignition, reduce flame spread, suppress smoke formation, and prevent a polymer from dripping. The primary goal is to delay the ignition and burning of materials, allowing more time to escape the affected area. In general, their use is mandated by regulations in building codes or industry-specific standards. Typical applications include transportation, building and construction, furnishings, telecommunications, electrical and electronics, etc. Primex produces a broad range of flame retardant additives and compounds.
Primex manufactures recycled content compounds. These recycled compounds perform with the same characteristics, consistency, and quality as virgin counterparts with the added benefit of being environmentally friendly. With a climate-positive impact, our sustainable grades are replacing linear consumption models with a circular solution. Our sustainable grade compounds can be customized depending on performance level and can be formulated to enhance strength, durability, and flexibility. Applications include lawn and garden, transportation, hand and power tools, electronics, office supplies, etc.
Our compounded thermoplastic polyolefins are engineered to provide better ductility and impact resistance versus traditional polypropylene. Often, these TPO’s are compounded with talc to improve stiffness and impact resistance, as well as better dimensional stability and increased heat deflection. These grades are available in natural and UV resistance matched colors. Applications include transportation, building and construction, furnishing, telecommunications, etc.
